In Year 7 English, students should be developing stronger grammar, punctuation, vocabulary, paragraphing, reading comprehension and text analysis. They begin working with more complex fiction, non-fiction and poetry, identifying themes, techniques and author purpose. They should also learn how to plan and write structured persuasive, imaginative and analytical responses using evidence and clear reasoning.
